Children living with two parents benefit from strong parental employment rates. |
Providing economic opportunities for single parents and minorities would benefit one in five children in North Dakota. Our youngest children and minority children are most likely to live in poverty in North Dakota. Developing new economic opportunities for their parents is essential for the well-being of these children. About 14% of North Dakota children are poor, but only 6.6% received assistance from TANF in 2004. In what other ways can we help poor children experience economic security? |
